Lawyer, and Chicago-Native, Samantha Dudzinski Chose to Build Her Career in Jacksonville
Thursday, May 24, 2018
Samantha Dudzinski is an attorney with Rammelkamp Bradney, P.C., based out of their Jacksonville location. She is an associate with the firm, concentrating in labor, employment, the public sector, and school law. As an associate, she has the opportunity to gain experience across many practice areas while working with the firm’s partners. There is a distinct advantage to joining a Jacksonville law firm. In larger metropolitan areas, Ms. Dudzinski may not have the opportunity to work directly with seasoned partners. Here, she does and that opportunity will hasten her growth as an attorney.
We wanted to learn more about her legal career, what inspired her to become an attorney, and why she chose to do so in Jacksonville and the I-72 Corridor.
What inspired you to go into the law?
“I was nine years old when I knew I wanted to be an attorney. The initial thought was likely spurred by watching too many episodes of Law and Order and remembering all the words to Legally Blonde. As I got older, I realized I had a knack for working with people and formulating arguments.”
Why did you choose to do so in this community?
“I am originally from the South Suburbs of Chicago, but I had been to Jacksonville a few times prior to the interview process because my sister-in-law is a Jacksonville native. I really liked the environment and had a feeling that I could create a good work-life balance.”
How has being located here benefited your legal career?
“Jacksonville is a place that cares about their community, which is not something you find everywhere. I’ve had the opportunity to become a member of some great organizations such as the Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Jacksonville Kiwanis Clubs. Being involved in the community helps create relationships and those relationships are key to being successful in any career.”
What do you love most about the law?
“The thing I love most about my career is that no two problems are ever the same. There is almost always a different angle or approach you have to take to solve a problem, and that prevents me from feeling stagnant in my career. Because every issue is different, I feel almost a daily sense of accomplishment.”
Why do you enjoy living in Jacksonville?
“I really enjoy living in the area. The main reason is because from the first day I moved here, every person I met welcomed me with open arms. I sincerely believe in this community. I moved here for my career, but I have chosen to stay here because of everything Jacksonville has to offer.”
How have you gotten involved with the community?
“I am the Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Network Director of Program Planning. I help organize monthly group events that usually involve touring or patronizing other member-businesses. I believe our community already offers a lot to support its professionals, and especially its young professionals. The support from the community comes from when professionals take full advantage of what our community has to offer and pay it forward by giving back to that community.”
